Dragon and Tiger Wall was a wall that marked the western boundary of Guangdong Gongyuan during the Qing Dynasty. When the results of the Guangdong provincial examination were announced, the rankings would be posted on this wall. Since the announcement day usually fell on the day of the Tiger or Dragon in the Chinese zodiac, the list came to be known as the "Dragon and Tiger List," and the wall became known as the Dragon and Tiger Wall.
Regarding Gongyuan (Wikipedia), there is a Guangdong Gongyuan Exhibition Hall nearby that can be visited. Additionally, at the exhibition hall, there is also a geocache (GC8GAZX).
Today, a small section of the Dragon and Tiger Wall still remains, incorporated into the western wall of the Zhongshan Library. It is constructed with blue bricks. However, due to its age and lack of maintenance, the wall has suffered from several areas of deterioration and damage. In the early 21st century, the wall underwent reinforcement with the addition of cement pillars placed at intervals of approximately 3 meters to prevent collapse. Nevertheless, the wall surface still retains its fragmented appearance.
