Rhode Island-Our New Home
We came to Rhode Island from Texas to be near our daughter who moved to Boston. When we first got here October 1, 2024 we did not have a car and stayed in a temporary housing situation for an extended period of time to get a foothold. We used geocaching to learn our new neighborhood and surroundings as well as Adventure Labs to learn about local history.
Very grateful to all of the local geocachers who, even though as of yet we have not met, you all have helped us to feel welcome in our new home. The first hides we found near our new home while on foot were GC7DXCQ, GC3FCY3, GC6Y44D, GC6XNH6, tons of hides around downtown Providence (as well as around Back Bay in Boston), GC671TJ (MY FAVORITE ONE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, which sadly may or may not be able to stick around as just learned plans to demolish the nearby baseball stadium), and all of the caches hidden in Slater Park are a must! Thank you to these hiders for showing us around and getting us acclimated to our new home.
This is our first cache hide and is near our temporary housing situation where we began our stay in Rhode Island. The gas station here has great employees who welcomed us greatly as well as the famous place for locals to start the day across the street. You gotta try the pizza place there also.

Twist of fate, since placing this cache we have moved on from the temporary housing and into permanent residence within eyesight of the cache. Officially Rhode Islanders now...
