Geocache Description:

So, technically there is food here...but it's not yours to pick and eat.  And sometimes there are (portable) restrooms...but you might not want to use them.

Yes, we are playing with facilities attributes!  We've already tricked you made you think about wheelchair accessibility, parking, public transportation/picnic tables, drinking water, and telephone/camping nearby.

Now consider Toronto's community gardens, like these Givendale Allotments.  How awesome is it to be able to grow your own food on public land!  But how frustrating it must be that your produce is easily predated, both by wild and human animals.  I totally respect the coalitions of gardeners who tend these plots, away from their own homes.  Many also donate their harvests to others in need.

Have you also noticed how portable toilets are being installed to serve summer programs in various city parks?  One was in the southeast corner of these allotments.  I am mildly impressed by the foresight and economy behind this method for meeting seasonal demand.  I'm also mildly disgusted by...well, them, obviously.  If only these temporary toilets could be more spruced up, like our traffic signal boxes.

But enough about port-o-potties.  As with other caches in this series, you'll be dealing with something that is harder to open than it is to find.  The cache is NOT at the starting co-ordinates, though it's clearly not far, if you check its description in the waypoints section.  You must use the objects you find at the start and at the nearby visible waypoint in order to unlock the co-ordinates for GZ.  Let's clarify...

At start:  you will find a cylindrical 'safe room' that contains 'encrypted' co-ordinates for GZ and possibly swag.  In the interests of stealth, you are welcome to temporarily remove the 'book' of co-ordinates to a neutral zone for leisurely 'decryption.'  Please make sure to reset it BEFORE you set off for GZ.

At the visible waypoint:  you will find a set of 'decoder keys,' ONE of which will decrypt what you found at start.  Again, you may temporarily remove them, but keep them linked together.  You only need one key to help you 'read' the book, but you may need all of them to make sense of it.  Please return them to the waypoint AFTER re-encrypting the book and BEFORE setting off to GZ.

After all this, the final container might be a little anticlimactic.  But you don't get to claim this find unless you log there!  Pencil included...indeed, that is about all that will fit.  Tip: the jump ring is for keeping the log rolled up; if you slide it onto the cord, then you can't lose it while you sign.  🌱💩
