Louisiana Geocacher's Mudbug Fest Memorial Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

pizzachef: Well, the cache is indeed missing. Too bad, the location was really cool and it was hidden fairly well. The cord that the cache was clipped to is still intact, but the cache is missing. So either someone forgot to re-attach it to the tie-down cord and it floated away with the spring high waters, or it wasn't re-hidden quite as well and someone stumbled across it and pilfered it and threw the remains in the river. Or maybe someone was just out with a metal detector digging up every scrap of old chain and car part they came across and decided to ruin our game. Whatever the cause, the cache is lost along with the contents. My sincere apologies to the owners of the three travel bugs that were in the cache.
Happy Caching,
-geoff

Geocache Description:

This cache was a joint effort of all those who attended the Louisiana Geocacher's Mudbug Fest.

We all had fun at the Mudbug Fest and all those who attended brought an item to be placed in this geocache. It is hidden near the location of the Fest, but with a much better view of the Mississippi River and the Huey P. Long Bridge. All of the usual south Louisiana geocaching warnings apply:
-Apply generous portions of DEET
-Will be muddy after a rainfall
-May be inaccessible during high water stages
-Should not be attempted during a hurricane
-Wildlife may be present
-Cachers from north of the Mason-Dixon may want to wait for cooler weather
The container is an ammo box and is hidden out of view of passers-by, but a good geocacher should be able to find it after a short search. See the photo for the original cache contents.
