This cache is along the Water of Leith Walkway, which follows the Water of Leith for 12 miles from Balerno, at the foot of the Pentlands, to Leith.
There is an extensive network of cycle paths in the North of Edinburgh and this cache is accessible either on foot along the walkway or via these cycle paths. It may be worth investing in the 'Edinburgh City Bike Map' (£4.95) produced by Spokes (www.spokes.org.uk).
Access points to the Walkway are not far from the West end of the city centre at N55 56.762 W003 14.075 (or at N55 56.905 W003 13.441 for a shorter walk but down a very long steep flight of steps).
The walkway passes a back entrance to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art which also has a cafe. From the cache site it is a very pleasant walk to Dean Village, a village which used to be in the countryside and is now encircled by the city. There are other caches along the 12 mile walk.
The signal can be a bit weak under the trees but the clue should help you find it.
