Seldom Seen Cache Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Keystone: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I noticed that this cache has been temporarily disabled for well in excess of the period of 'a few weeks' as contemplated by Geocaching.com's cache maintenance guidelines. http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=307#maint Please either fix the problem with this cache, or archive your listing so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven't done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If there is a good reason for a long delay in enabling this cache, please post an update on the cache page so that everyone will know what's going on.

I've placed this cache on a bookmark list, and I will check back in three weeks or so to make sure that the issue has been addressed. If not, then I'll need to archive this cache for lack of maintenance.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching, and I'm looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Keystone

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in the Seldom Seen Greenway. Parking
coordinates are on Tropical Ave. in Beechview N 40 25.363 W 080
01.473. Walk along the right side of the park to the trail head.
The trail starts as a maintained footpath which disappears as you
descend to stage one. The first stage is in the flat land and has
proven to be a challenge. The cache is a little more of a physical
challenge. The railroad tracks in the area are active. There is no
reason to walk on or along the tracks.

The Seldom Seen Greenway was established by the City of Pittsburgh in July of 1985. It was dedicated to the memory of Edward E. Smuts who was instumental in establishing the Greenway program to preserve wooded hillsides in Pittsburgh. The suggested parking location is the driest and safest way to the cache. There is also more of a physical challenge entering from this location. Stage one
is a small container that contains the coordinates to the cache. The cache container is a typical ammo can. When hidden it contained several Matchbox cars, plastic bugs, puzzle books, a deck of cards, and Aol 9.0 CD's. This area is an excellant CITO location. Unfortunately some of the trash will not be able to be carried out. There are several No hunting/trespassing signs along a short part of the trail however the trail and cache are on public land. The
signs are to warn against hunting near the school. Be careful when searching for this cache since these woods look like they may be a popular class cutting/teen drinking spot. I found that GPS at stage one is most accurate while facing the north east (Towards the tracks).
