Geocache Description:

How Oslo stole the water

Your tap water is not always what you think. A century ago, tremendous efforts were made to redirect the waterways of Oslomarka in order to support the rapidly growing capital. Water that flowed naturally to Nittedal and the east was pushed to the south by building several dams, tunnels and other installations. Further reading
The cache sits near the exit of a long underground water tunnel, created at great expense at the time, but with little regard for the natural flow of the water. Thus, humans tinkering with the ecology of waterways is nothing new.
This area is called Invaldsflaten. Unfortunately, Ingvald's house burned down and he had to spend the rest of his life as a tenant at a nearby farm.
Nowhere else are the views of Lake Sandungen and Sandungskollen more dramatic than here, so don't forget to look.
Cache history: The original cache was a Vietnamese jasmine tea container, enhanced by an "official geocache" sticker and wrapped in a ziplock plastic bag.
Initial contents:
Deluxe geocaching logbook, stashnote, pencil
TB Feiom
A Norwegian cheese slicer pin
2 microcards
A psychedelically colored paper clip
A tiny cloth clip
A storm match --- Army-style food container installed on April 1, 2013. The cache was lost as a result of extensive logging in the area in the fall of 2014. Cache replaced and installed in a new location on June 20, 2015, with the kind help of geocacher Muspel.

Travel hint: If you plan to combine a ski visit to this cache with finding Bernhard #19: Hadr's Passage, you can make an exciting shortcut. Instead of crossing the lakes, take the dotted red track through the valley east of Hadelandshøgda. This will take you to the road above Hakklokalven, which has a fabulous view down Hakkloa lake. From here, make your approach to the cache from the north.
Don't try this if you're unsure of the ice.
