Geocache Description:

Saturday, 26 June 2004, 6:00pm (18:00hrs). On the Northeast corner of Blackstone & Herndon in north Fresno.

It's about that time again. Time for another get-together. Has it really been a year since the 'Greater Fresno Area Geocacher's Get-Together Again'? So many new names... and very few faces. Lets change that.

We've all seen the old names, and we keep seeing new ones all the time. All the people with the strange names playing the game. Who are all of these people, and why did their parents punish them by giving them such strange names in the first place?

Let's find out about the names and put some faces with them by having a get together on...

TODAY!!!

What better way than to kick off a summer of caching than by having a caching event at the beginning of summer? (We could call it an belated Summer Solstice party if you're into that Druidian sort of thing.)

Being the planner I am (not), I thought that a gathering at a local eatery might work out best for everyone, this way everyone can order whatever they're in the mood for, and as much, or little, of it as they want. (Ever try to order pizza for a large group of people?)

There's not really anything planned for the event itself, but while we're there, we can:

Swap caching stories and Travel Bugs!
Give each other ideas and encouragement on how/where to place new caches. (How about everywhere?)
Curse the caches that took four or more tries to find.
Tell lies about how accurate our GPS units are. (Less than two feet, huh?)
Say 'See You Later!' to Great Scott! who swears he really is moving to the East Coast this time.
Ideas for future event caches are encouraged too! (Is weekly too often? Who's planning the next one?)

Be sure to bring any Travel Bugs you may have to swap. (There is an unsubstantiated rumor that one of the event attendees may be traveling to the east coast not long after the event. It might be possible to talk him into taking some of the bugs with him.) There will also be a few of the California GeoCoins at the event which can be logged at www.Calif.Geocoin.net.

Everyone is Welcome!

Please post a note (not a find!) on the cache page so we can get some sort of head count. (Some resturants get nervous when big groups show up unannounced. [As of 09:00, 26 June, we have about 50 people who plan on attending!])

Also, be sure to add the cache to your watch list so you can be notified if there are any changes or updates to the event.

Hope to see you there!

Keep on Caching!
