GeoLuau Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Shop99er: Thanks once again to everyone who attended our first Event. We had a great time meeting everyone, and finally being able to put names and faces together.

We are planning next year's Luau now, and will post that announcement in mid to late July.

Hope to see you there,
Shop99er and the Boss

Geocache Description:

An end-of-Summer get together.

GEOLUAU!

The end of summer is near. Kids will be going back to school soon. Big maple tree leaves will curl up and skitter across the road like squirrels making me drive into the ditch...ahhh, Autumn...BUT before we close the book on summer we're going to have one final hurrah!

Join us at Harper Park on Saturday, September 11th between 11AM and 6PM for a little food, a little caching and lusty tales of caching.

Harper Park is located near Southworth, just outside of Port Orchard. The park doesn't have running water or electricity but there's ample parking, a port-a-potty, covered picnic tables and a small BBQ. This is a kid and dog friendly park so bring 'em if ya got 'em.

There will be a cache set up for this event.

And, there are five caches very close proximity. Three are in the woods just a short walk from the picnic area. One is withing easy walking distance from the park, and the fifth one is just .5 mile north of the park.

They are:

Depression
Puzzlemania
Bricked Again
Shorebirdy
Mosquito Fleet 1: Harper

New to caching? This would be a great opportunity to see what GeoCaching is all about. Talk with cachers and, if you'd like to try your very first one, there will be people on hand who can help you make that first find.

There's going to be a few kids games, maybe some grown up games, prizes and food. Please bring your own lawn chairs, mosquito repellant, a food item if you can, and something to drink. We'll have some soda pop on hand but we might not have what you like. There will be some hot dogs, some kalua pig (well it IS a luau) along with some chips and dips. Because this is a county park alcohol is not allowed….however, what you do with your own cooler and your coozie is your business.

Since this is a luau Hawaiian attire is appreciated...underwear, as always, is optional.

We look forward to seeing you!!

Follow the water around to or from the Southworth Ferry dock. The park is a small park with a baseball diamond towards the front. The coordinates at the top of the page are for the parking lot.
