Most of us agree that the best part of caching involves the great people we get to meet. And with so many new folks getting involved in the sport, we decided it was high time for a local get together. Nothing elaborate, mind you; as the title would suggest, just a bunch of geocachers sitting around Tyrrell Park and shooting the breeze. We expect to see some out-of-towners as well -- there should be a sizeable group coming in for The Amazing Moun10Bike Race the same day.
We plan on mixing and matching snacks and liquid refreshments, so bring your favorites. Although there are plenty of picnic tables in the area, you'll probably want to bring some camp chairs. And don't forget your camera. If you have children, Tyrrell Park is very kid-friendly, offering nice playgrounds, a disc golf course, hundreds of acres to explore, several miles of hiking and biking trails, and the outstanding Botanical Gardens.
The listed coordinates will lead you to the main parking area; you'll locate the group somewhere nearby. The tentative hours for the event will be 9AM until 1PM. After that we may do some group caching or who knows what all. If anyone's brave enough, we might even head out for a mass assault on the Swamp Lights night cache.
If you'd also like to participate in The Amazing Moun10Bike Race, you'll need to reach the area by 6AM when the park opens.
