This cache is located in Wilson’s Botanic Park, in Melbourne's
South East. Once a bluestone quarry, the park has undergone much
development, (& continues to do so), into a lovely area for
walking, romancing, bird-watching, botanical studies, & of
course placing a cache or two. The park has public toilets, & a
good playground for those with young kiddies. The park is open:
7am–5pm (7am–8pm daylight savings hours) closing Christmas day
& Good Friday. For more information visit: www.wbp.com.au
It should be noted that this park is as
large as it is lovely, and that this cache May take
you on a lengthy walk around the park to show you some of the
beautiful views. The starting point is only several metres from the
upper carpark, however you may be required to walk up
to 1.5 km, with some gentle hills involved.
At the first location you will find a medium sized shrub with
small white flowers, in the garden bed on the high side of the
path. Please treat the plant life & the area Gently. At the
base of the shrub, at its rear, you will find a 4 Litre clip lock
type container, which is Buried & Completely Covered in mulch,
with Two Rocks Placed On Top. DO NOT
Remove this Container. After lifting the rocks, and taking
off the lid, you will find inside the cache there is a “Device”.
Carefully remove this “Device” without being seen. Once removed,
read the instructions, and have fun with it –(Its very easy).
All you really need to do from there is ask yourself
“Do You Feel Lucky?”
Many people enjoy this park. Please take EXTRA care to be DISCREET, when removing
& replacing the “Device”, & MAKE SURE the cache container
at this first location is Completely covered with loose dry mulch,
& The Two Small Rocks placed On Top, BEFORE leaving for the
final location.
Please don’t describe the “Device” when logging your find, &
please don’t Attempt this cache outside park opening hours.
Chick 1 helped dad with the construction of this device,
including gluing, drilling, screwing down, and most importantly to
her, the soldering of the contents. Hence when I went to place the
bottom on the device, I was told it had to be “See through” so
people could see all her “really good work”. And so now you know
why its not timber on the bottom The Final cache container is 1
Litre in size. Remember to trade fairly.
This is Team Chookies 14th cache. We hope you have lots of
fun!
For another Chookies multi-cache & another “Device”, only a
short walk away within this park visit (GCMFZ1:
What The ???)
Best of luck, have fun, from Chookies
