Geocache Description:

The hardest part about finding this cache will be finding a place to park while you run in and grab it. We recommend pulling off to on the shoulder, parking right over the drainage cover, or parking in the lot at the Bridal Mall and walking the short distance in.

East Lyme is home to many great historical places, and we wanted to bring you out to celebrate some local lore, and to get warmed-up to the caching event before you (October 22 at Rocky Neck State Park (visit link)

The area around Bridebrook now houses community soccer fields, cuts through a beautiful state park, and even skirts the boundaries of our town prison. But in the winter of 1646-47, the brook (then known as Sunkapung to the Indians) was an important boundary between the citie of New London and Lyme, CT. As the legend is told, true love and Yankee determination prevailed, leaving us with the re-named "Bride's Brook".

So stay on the right side of the guardrail, learn a great New England legend, and score a find in the process!
