Lindave's 2000th Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

G.O. John and Carol: I'm not hiding or maintaining caches anymore, so I'm archiving this. I know the park district used it for teaching geocaching, so maybe somebody could pick up the old container and hide a new cache here or nearby. Sorry I don't live closer, or maybe I'd make an exception on this one.

Thanks for all the visits!

Geocache Description:

This cache is near a trail, but a little bushwacking is required. It may be significantly harder in the summer.

This golden ammo box commemorates the 2000th find for Lindave,  a wonderful caching couple.

NOTE: The original gold ammo can has gone missing, and has been replaced with a large Lock and Lock. Thanks to John Fiorina of the Crystal Lake Park District for replacing the cache!

WAY TO GO, GUYS!

Dave and Linda are great friends of ours, and they're two of the most thoughtful people you'll ever meet. They found their first cache on January 1 of 2003, and their 2000th cache last weekend. They've hunted caches in 10 states, and have kept pretty busy over the years!

As a lot of you know, we often get together with them and go out for dinner on Sunday nights after the day's caching is complete. Let me tell ya, if you're in the mood for good, nonstop conversation, you won't find two better people to dine with. Several micro caches have been hidden after our Sunday dinners - it's kind of like dessert for us.

This large ammo box that you'll be hunting is LOADED with some pretty cool swag, and there are souvenirs for the first 100 or so visitors. We've left plenty of material in the area to help conceal the cache, so please re-hide it well. Be sure to sign the logbook and leave a note for Dave and Linda.
