The charming, pretty island of St. Agnes - along with its conjoined smaller twin, Gugh (often mispronounced as 'Goo', hence the cache name) - is your target for this easy puzzle cache, hidden just off a path and making a good stopping-off point if gathering the island's caches in a counter-clockwise (or indeed, clockwise) direction. The smalll box is hidden under a large rock with a sea view AND IS NOT AT THE GIVEN CO-ORDS!
There are four ways to locate this small cache:
Method 1: Use the info from a 'Red AAND*' (400+ of which are in circulation) and go to N49 5E.DFD W006 2F.HHK.
Method 2: Answer these questions about St Agnes with an Internet Search/local Knowledge and head to N49 5v.wxw W006 2x.yyz where: v= was the recorded population of St Agnes and Gugh in 2001 MINUS 70, w= the year St Agnes' resident ornithologist Hilda M. Quick's book 'Birds of Scilly' was published in the following: 196w, x= is the year the lighthouse was built in the following: 168x, y= the repeated number in the island's postcode and z= the area of St Agnes and Gugh in acres, MINUS 360.
Method 3: Use the Gallery Image to solve the puzzle of this cache, and head to the co-ords you get from it. If they seem to take you into the sea, somewhere dangerous or private, you'll have got something wrong!
Method 4: Use information found at the given co-ords, turning this Puzzle into a simple off-set Multi you can solve as you land. Head to N49 5a.bcb W006 2c.dde, where 'a' is the total number of cups and glasses icons shown on the map, and 'b' is the sum (add them together!) of the numbers on the orange sail of the boat seen at the top left corner of the map. 'c' is the number of letters in the map designer's First name MINUS the number of letters in their Surname (see bottom-left corner of the map) and 'd' is the number of shopping basket icons shown on the map. 'e' is the number of letters in the name of the Neck seen near the map's bottom-left corner. Don't include the word Neck.
Good luck and Enjoy! Please say which method you used to get the co-ords in your log. Thank you.
