These are the caches that make up the Star-Spangled Banner Geotrail which is a unique journey through American history and across the landscapes of the Chesapeake Bay region.  It is sponsored by Friends of Chesapeake Gateways, the Maryland Geocaching Society, and the National Park Service.

The Star-Spangled Geotrail includes 35 sites in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The first 400 geocachers that find a minimum of 20 of the SSB caches are eligible to receive a special Geocoin.
