FTF #8 with TheCollector, Peacful1, and mayberryman

After being FTF for Bunker Hills Cache, I headed over to this cache, thinking there was no way I'd be first.

The original posted coordinates were off by 233 feet to the East, so I spent a good 15 minutes making sure the cache wasn't where the coordinates said it should be.  At that point, I was thinking either the cache is gone, or the coordinates are off.  Just in case only one coordinate was off, I took a look N-S and E-W from GZ.  There was nothing obvious directly North, South, or West, but there was an obvious beacon directly to the East!  Just as I deduced where the cache must be and started walking, three people emerged from the dim and made a beeline for the same beacon I was going for!  I walked up just in time to join in the co-FTF with TheCollector (who actually found the container), Peacful1, and mayberryman.

I found #2, but #3 was impossible for me in the dark, so I took a break to find this one.

I ended up finding #3 the next day, but was not FTF.

Fowl Ball

Truly evil hide.  I met pikers (a caching couple) and the hider (kittycatgato) and his mom.  I also re-met mayberryman (co-hider).  I may be on video somewhere - mayberryman videoed us searching for the cache.  I'm used to geocaching being a solitary activity; it was difficult to stop conversing and actually find the cache!  :)

Apparently, I run into mayberryman ONLY for FTFs.  :)

Le Cabochon Exchange

This is a really interesting cache idea: there were 10 containers in a 30' radius around GZ.  Ronindoc nabbed container #6 after we'd found containers #3, #8, #7, #1, and #10.  Due to time constraints, I opted out of finding the remaining 4 containers.  It was another gorgeous October afternoon.  Looking at past logs, I think October may be the very best month of the year for geocaching!
