This a long day trip -- about 2.5 hours from Eden Prairie each way -- but another great older kid and teen one -- age 11 and up due to terrain -- some cool cliff scrambling but sandstone can be a little slippery -- I would worry about a hyper kid or a huge group here -- and a small cave that is GREAT!!  Plan on about 2 hours on site  to explore and have fun, can bring a snack or drink to enjoy the greta views or there is a Culver's at the bottom of the hill.

This whole acro series in Chanhassen by Gilby is awesome for older kids (I'd say 10 and up) and teens.  Lots of X-treme climbing involved. Leave a couple of hours to do the whole series.

Acro - It Starts Here

This is a great day trip to go kayaking down the Cannon River from Cannon Falls and find several bflentje caches and swim along the way -- bring water and a lunch.  You can put in from the public landing or we rented kayaks from an outfitter in town.  You may experience some nettles, etc. while searching the banks. Age 10 up.

Cannon River Playground

Kids LOVED the raft!! Fine for age 5 and up. Easy trail through the bottomlands. Maybe a few nettles at end.

Coleman Lake Cache

This is a must do multi for the kids involving a pirate map.  You'll need to really use it too -- not just following the GPS!  Some great containers too and plenty of loot opportunity at the end. Terrain not too bad or long, maybe 1/2 mile, I'd say 5 and up.

Dead Mans Cache

Fantastic for any kids who like to climb - challenging but should not give moms a heart attack. The whole area along the river south of Coleman Lake is great.  Bring bikes for the trail (or walk carefully).  Warning, the north side of Coleman is bushwhacking, very different. 

Domino

Another day trip down toward Faribault.  This needs to be for older kids, I would say 11 and up and intrepid-- there is some terrain that is not young kid friendly -- but it is an AWESOME multi!  If in summer wear swimsuits (with long pants over for nettles) -- along your route on the near bank of the river you will find a great river swimming hole with nice sandy beach and scenic cliffs. Snacks and water are a good idea.  We spent a good 4 or 5 hours here doing the stages and goofing off.

Gauntlet 2010 - Senses Census

Age 5 and up, maybe a half mile walk on a trail from parking lot but this site is too cool for words.  Cache may be tough to find so you may want to de-emphasize that and just enjoy.  Go a little past the cache site on the trail and visit a small cave also.

Lair of the Three-Headed Woman

Just because it is such a sick container.  If you come into the park from the south side where the schools and sports field are there are some very cool views along the cliffs. Expect to do some walking, I would say 9 and up due to the length.

Lil' Baby Cache

Easy walking along paved trail for this multi and every container is very fun and cool.  Age 5 and up some minor bushwhacking.

Mimicry in the Preserve

Cute multi without a lot of walking between stages.

The Fisherman's Cache

Awesome container and you could trade beanie babies into this thing!  Bring trades and "donations!"

Wally's World

This is fun for all ages because hello, why is there ice cream and candy here in the middle of this neighborhood?  : )  Any age kid will enjoy.
