Yellowstone Trail BONUS Caches
Public
The Yellowstone Trail is a 3,600 mile automobile trail route that existed to connect the east and west coasts of the U.S. It was the first of its kind - long before numbered highways, and a decade before the famed "route 66," and passed through hundreds of towns along the way. Begun in 1913 when automobiles first began to be purchased by the general population, it helped birth a new phrase: ROAD TRIP! With the advent of the interstate highway system in the 1930s, much of the Yellowstone Trail was forgotten and fell into decline. Today the trail is fragmented, with the Wisconsin section being one of the more complete and cared for segments of this once great route across America. This Adventure Lab series traces the route as it makes it way through the Wisconsin portion, with 32 geocacher "trail bosses" placing 5 adventure labs each, plus over 20 traditional ammo can bonus caches along the route. ROAD TRIP!
