I haven't actually tried this one yet but it is on my list to do so. You will have to carry/drag your canoe/kayak about 5-600 feet to the water's edge... Plenty of wild life to go explore.

Lot's of wildlife. Parking is very close. Rarely will you see other people up river...

7 Mile Island

Remember the waypoint listed for this cache is not a real one - you need to visit each one to discover this mystery cache. But use these parking coords to gain access to some great kayaking areas. I haven't visited yet (10/14/06) but I plan on putting this high on my list of places to get to with my kayak soon!


CRC -Mystery Cache-

One of two places where hand paddled boats are allowed in the Quabbin. You need to carry your boat about .3 miles from the parking lot to the water.

On the Shores of Lake Pottapaug

Small quiet lake with many interesting homes.

The island cache

You will have to find the actual cache coordinates and once you do you will see that this appears to be a very pleasant spot to put in with your kayak or canoe.

Ware My Keys?

I've put in here with kayaks many times. Go downstream and you'll be clear for about 30 minutes until you hit the substantial beaver dam behind the Quaboag High School. Go upstream and you'll be in North Pond in less than an hour.
