This is along the same trail that Baylor's Booty is located on.  This cache is about a mile roundtrip from the Aguirre Springs starting location (There is $3 admission to the park).  I would suggest staying on this trail and getting Baylor's Booty.  Although I have not been there, I have heard great things.  The trail then continues down on the other side of the Organ Mts. to Dripping Springs Road.  I would recommend hiking with a friend.  One person parks at Aguirre Springs, the other off of Dripping Springs Road.  Altogether, this trail is about 5 miles.

Baylor's Backside

This is probably the oldest cache in the Las Cruces area.  It is located ~2 miles from the Aguirre Springs trailhead and ~3 miles from the Dripping Springs trailhead.  The trail goes from Dripping Springs Rd. (off of Highway 70), through the Organ Mountains into the Aguirre Springs park.  I would highly suggest having a friend park at one end and then you park at the other end.  Also along this trail is Baylor's Backside.  There is a $3 admission fee to the Aguiree Springs park.

This trail takes you to the top of Boston Hill near Silver City.  The trail is currently being remade so it stays on university property, rather than the adjacent private property.  The trail is probably about a mile and a half to two miles roundtrip and offers an excellent view of Silver City.

Boston Hill

The trail is extremely easy, as it is on grassland.  There's almost no change in elevation- very flat.  You won't be disappointed, though.  This is still a very beautiful area worth exploring.  There are lots of trails in this park, so you'll want to allow extra time for that.

An interesting twist to caching along a trail.  In order to find this cache, you'll need a flashlight to look for reflectors.  This means the best time to find this cache is actually at night.  This is on the beginning of the trail system that will connect with several other caches.

Night Crawler

Located in the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park out of Las Cruces on the East Mesa.  This cache is not located too far along the trail, so it could be reached in a matter of minutes.  It's a beautiful trail system, however, that allows visitors to appreciate the desert ecosystem surrounding Las Cruces.

Old Missing Pen Burial Ground

This is located approximately at the midpoint of the Pine Trail in Aguirre Springs National Recreation Area east of Las Cruces.  The trail consists of a four mile loop offering some great views.  You can even see the town of White Sands from the trail.

There's a nice trail that offers an amazing view from the top.  Make sure you take the trail that follows the fence, and not the deer trail.  That was a little dangerous and a lot more difficult than the trail made for humans.

The Front Range

This is a three-stage multi-cache that I put together.  Roundtrip, it's about a mile.  It's a relatively short hike.  You won't really start on a trail, but the second stage was at the beginning of a trailhead (before the trailhead was taken down).  The trail still remains,  although it is now unmarked.

Need some exercise?  These caches are along trails (of sorts) in southwestern New Mexico.  They vary in length and terrain, but since the caches listed here are off of trails, they probably won't be rated more than a three.
