11 September 2001 Memorial

Located on Mackinac Island.  No trip to the island is complete without a visit to the picturesque spot known as Arch Rock.  

Arch Rock

Located just north of San Antonio, Texas.  This is a MUST do!  Incredible toilet seats and one incredible host!  Our kids wish we lived closer so we could go back!

Barney Smith's Toilet Seat Museum

Located in Chicago, Illinois near O'Hare Airport.  The cache is an average cache, but the location... ohhhh... It's right next to one of my all-time favorite pizza joints!  Yum!

Near Muskegon, Michigan.  Because we live within an hour of here, we knew about the Blockhouse prior to caching.  But for visitors from out of town, it's definitely worth a look!

Located in Texas between San Antonio and Austin.  The cache itself was an average cache, but we really enjoyed watching the workers make blown glass.  The final products were a bit expensive for our tastes, but it was fun to watch them.

Just into Georgia along I75.  This cache may be archived, but the spring isn't!  Because of this cache, we stop at this location every time we travel I75 to stretch our legs and fill up all our water bottles.

Boynton Spring

Brockway Nose

Located in Houston, Texas.  Our kids loved the story behind this woman.  They knew about her before we visited the cache.  That made it all the more memorable.  Beautiful trees in this cemetery.

Emma Edmonds Seelye

This cache is located just north of 10 in the Florida panhandle.  The cache itself is an ordinary cache, but the caverns are neat and not expensive.

Florida Caverns

Located in Georgia, south of Columbus.  We never knew about this canyon.  What a delight to discover!  The colors are beautiful.  Hike through the canyon if the weather is decent.  We were there in the winter, and it was a beautiful hike.  

Georgia’s “Little Grand Canyon”

Located in Houston Texas.  Incredible.  Our kids love history, and they could have spent a lot of time here.  It's definitely a cache you won't forget!

Heads of State

This archived cache is Pennsylvania overlooks where Flight 93 went down on September 11, 2001.  It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it's worth the drive to remember and reflect.

Heroes of Flight 93

This archived cache is just south of Ocala, Florida.  This was the first location where we were able to explore a non-commerical cave.  There are now a few other caches in similar locations, but if you can't find one, and you want to check out a hole in the ground, this is the place for you!

Hole in the Ground

Located between Austin and San Antonio, Texas.  While we did find and log the cache, we wish we would have had room to pack the appropriate attire for visiting.  People who have done so have thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Holy Archangels!

Located in Marshfield, Missouri (northeast of Springfield).  If you've ever wanted to take a peak at what the Hubble Space Telescope looks like, here's your opportunity!

Hubble Space Telescope 

Located near Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Beautiful view.  Wonderful history.

Lookout For The Yanks

Near Clare, Michigan.  Yes, it's just a rest stop cache, but it's a neat memorial.  You'll be glad you stopped to stretch your legs at this one.

M·DOT Employee Memorial Cache

Located just south of Mackinac on I75.  A trip north wouldn't be complete without a stop here.  A bit over-commercialized, but fun nonetheless.  Enjoy!

Man Eating Clam !! YIKES!!

We loved these falls in the UP of Michigan.  Beautiful falls without all the commercialism.  Our oldest got within 30' or so of a wolf/coyote.  He wasn't sure which.  Very fun spot!

Olson Memorial Falls

When planning vacations, it's often difficult to determine the "gotta see this" caches from the every day cache.  Hopefully this list will make planning va-cache-ons a bit easier for someone!
