Geocache Description:

This is one of ten caches placed for the 2015 Cache Across Maryland. Each location was picked specifically to give cachers a taste of the state and show you its beauty. By combining all ten, you'll be able to see why Maryland is truly "America in Miniature". We hope you enjoy them!

The park honors America's outstanding writer, environmental activist and County resident by conserving 650 acres in the Brookeville area of Montgomery County. Like other M-NCPPC conservation parks, Rachel Carson Conservation Park contains some of the best examples of park natural resources in Montgomery County, Maryland and remains undeveloped.
This park is one of the county's premier conservation areas and Best Natural Areas with 6+ miles of natural surface trails for hiking and equestrian use.

From parking go directly north and take the Fox Meadow Loop trail, then the Hidden Pond trail. To avoid thorns and softer ground, follow the trail a little further and circle around the pond's rim.

The park is open from dawn to dusk and and contains many other great geocaches including the Maryland and Delaware Delorme Challenge, GCR7CH and for the 5/5 high adventurer, Cacher's Oven GC3ERVX
