An afternoon jolly - Eirias Park Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Deceangi: Rather than keep this cache temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly unarchive it assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Please avoid geolitter by removing any remaining traces of your cache or contact a local cacher to do so for you. If you are having difficulty doing so then please contact me via my profile and I will try to get someone to assist. This is particularly important if your cache appears to contain Travelbugs or Geocoins.

Geocache Description:

It won't take anywhere near an afternoon Maybe just over an hour! But it should be a jolly pleasant walk around Eirias Park, on paths and on grass, then taking you on a nice walk to the countryside to the final cache with views over Eirias Park. The co-ordinates for the main listing are for suggested parking. Remember to smile, it is a jolly walk! Not a difficult walk, it could even be a rather nice amble!

Inspired by a cache I did down in Taunton, Somerset.

Eirias Park is over 50 acres in size and has space for a running track, football pitch, a rugby pitch, an all-weather pitch, a leisure centre, a boating lake, a model boating lake, viewpoints, a golf course and it even used to have a steam train!!

The Cache!

A)Walk over to N53 17.463 W3 42.920.

In which year was the Leisure Centre officially opened? You may have to go inside to find out.... Use just the last two digits, so 19...? This will become answer A.

B)Saunter down to these co-ordinates, N53 17.596 W3 42.976 and find out how many directional signs there are on the post. This will become answer B.

C)Perambulate over to, N53 17.582 W3 42.824.

How many vertical standing stones can you see? This will be come answer C.

D)March over to N 53 17.579 W3 42.717.

You are now standing at what is known as locally as TellyTubby hill. For obvious reasons! At this location, you can see the rear of a large white building with lots of windows. And the rear of a small white building near the lake. How many windows can you see on the small building from here? This will become answer D. The answer may not be as exciting as you may have hoped.

E)Stroll over to N53 17.509 W3 42.688.

Above the sundial are some angelic faces. How many cherubs can you see? This will become answer E.

F)Promenade with style and panache over to N53 17.512 W3 42.655.

What year was the building built? Once you have the usual four number arrangement, use the last two digits. This will become answer F.

G)Jog over to these co-ords N53 17.396 W3 42.812.

How many 'A's make the challenge? Only note the quantity of the letter A. Ignore the number that maybe by the side of the it. This will become answer G.

H)Step over to these co-ords N53 17.339 W3 43.057.

How many wrought iron dragons can you see? This will become answer H.

The final is located at

N53 G(D+E+G+H).(788+A+C) W3 43.(556-A-B-F)

You can now sit down on the wall and work out your final co-ords. When you have worked out your final co-ords, look across the road and can you see the no bicycles sign at the top of some steps? I'd suggest you start rambling along that footpath towards the final cache as public rights of way will guide you towards the final cache location. Happy huntin'!
