A series of caches hidden to celebrate the locations of Scout Groups that have existed in Keirawarra (Scout) District (Helensburgh to Mount Kembla). It is 90 years this year (2013) since the opening of the first Scout Groups in the Wollongong Districts.
4th Wollongong Scout Group Headquarters - Corner Belmore Street and Victoria Street Wollongong.
Here's the thing. There are four locations that match this description... And yet (4) I do not know which one the Hall was at. I suspect (3) it was the NE corner. I am sure a Geocacher will let me know, probably Nighteez. At any rate, this one will start at the middle of the intersection (6)!
The Hall is long gone. The Scout (3) Group moved itself to the 1st (9) Gwynneville Hall. However the Scout Troop closed ten years ago, and all that remains is the (0) Rover Crew.
There is a cache hidden within 160m of this location, that being the 1st Wollongong Scout Hall, nearly next door! As such, I have had to hide this cache away from here. The cache container was manufactured by 'The Gringo.' He was a cacher once. He was also a 4th 'Gong Rover.
To find the cache you can head directly South(ish) to the end of Belmore Street. Cross the road and the cache will be in your hands. If you'd prefer to use your GPSr, use the numbers in brackets dispersed within the text, the correct Southings are the first three numbers, the final three numbers are the Eastings.
