I had been busy running errands for my parents this morning and didn't get round to checking my emails until 1:30. Even then it took me a while to notice that a new IceCold puzzle had been published. My spirits fell a bit when I saw that was five hours ago. Still nobody had solved it yet - did that mean it was hard?

I decided to give it the once-over. I'm obviously of the right generation for this playlist as I knew five of the songs immediately, and two more fell on the second listen. Some great songs there. The others were vaguely familiar and I brought in my daughter and her boyfriend as reinforcements. Together we finished them off.

I had already noticed a theme that linked the songs and it wasn't long before I had some numbers extracted. The co-ordinates looked good and I passed the geochecker at my first attempt. The question now was whether to go for the FTF: my daughter had helped me solve it but had had to rush out to the bank before it shut. They didn't say when they would be back so I decided to go for it.

Mrs C accompanied me as she hasn't been in many FTF races. I dithered a bit trying to decide on how to get to the GZ but then I spotted a footpath sign and after that it was an easy walk. The hint gave an indication of where the cache would be, but I was amazed when the first place I reached my hand into produced the goods. I was really pleased to be first.

I signed the log and left a small geocoin. I made sure the cache was attached securely when I left.

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
