Out and about with my good mate WhiteFriar on a day that was resolutely murky and overcast and even drizzled on us a bit, though not enough to matter. Never the less, an excellent day collecting Church Micros, Challenges, Large caches, Puzzles and Night caches.
So how did we get on? There were 15 Church Micros on the list of which we attempted and found 13 - all Multis! None unduly difficult but none cache and dash. Actually, they were generally more enjoyably than many we've done but they did take a little longer and we ran out of time. I'm not sure whether it helped but many of the churches (if are memories are reliable) we were visiting for the second time. For one we even checked the old hiding place first but it wasn't there, so we had to solve afresh.
7 challenges listed, attempted and found. 7 large caches listed, attempted and found. 7 puzzle listed, attempted and 6 found (our one DNF of the day). 2 night caches listed of which we only had time to do the first. So, that makes 34, doesn't it? Well, no actually, 4 of the "Large" were puzzles, so the final tally was only 30. However, I am pleased that, when I next update my statistics, my "Large" badge will have gone from "gold" to "platinum". It is one of the harder badges to make progress on as it requires 180 to go "diamond" and there are only around 400 in the entire United Kingdom.
See my web page http://www.15ddv.me.uk/geo/chal/knightfamily1980_challenges.html#07 for a list of qualifying caches. Note: Done disdaining the use of a Traditional. The cache itself was a nice and straightforward find from nearby parking.
