[Blue]1998[/Blue] - Today did NOT go as hoped. I started off the morning in need of a mere 5 caches to hit 2000 and since I wanted that milestone to be special I figured to go after one of the level 5 terrain space caches. And as long as I was shooting for SPACE, why not grab 4 others? Having only managed 2 finds and unable to grab the other level 5 in the river I was reluctantly forced to abort my mission for 2000 today. Still we were in the area and I'd never grabbed a level 5 terrain cache before and decided to see if we could at least salvage that victory from today's jaws of defeat. We parked where indicated and trekked through the lovely woods to GZ. Looked around for a bit but the bounce wouldn't stop and my GPSr wouldn't settle in on any one spot. No surprize, given the way the day had been going. Started a visual sweep of the area looking for any place Kodos might hide and finally spotted what looked like the right place. OK, how the heck are we going to get to that?! I was uncomfortable with attempting this one but my son thought he could manage it. Reluctantly I gave him the OK and watched from below as he grabbed Kang and tossed me the log which I dutifully signed. Replacing everything was even trickier than getting to the cache but his dexterity was sufficient to replace the log and container one-handed. We had to find a replacement "cover" but Kang was no more visible when we left than when we arrived. First level 5 for both of use and this one earns a favorite point. SL, TFTH

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
