I'd planned a trip to The Rock Elm Disturbance earthcache and checked to see any other earthcaches relatively close by. It was then that I came across this EC and was very caught the story, the lesson and the mystery. So, if at all possible during the short window of time I had to leave the twin cities during my also short stay there, I wanted to visit the effigy. I'm really glad it worked out on this beautiful clear day. What a curious site and well worth the detour! I personally felt "bird" when seeing it and I know as well birds did hold a special place in Native American symbology but mostly it felt and looked like I bird to me. Thanks for the earthcache and for bringing me to this special place. Answers sent.

Earth Owl and effigy

infoAn Earthcache is an educational form of a virtual cache. The reward for these caches is learning more about the planet on which we live - its landscapes, its geology or the minerals and fossils that are found there. Many Earthcaches are in National Parks. Some are multi-cache in form, and some have a physical log book located in or close to a Visitor Center. Earthcaches are developed in association with the Geological Society of America.
