Found it Biertje found A Look at the Ice Age

Sunday, 08 September 2019Utah

our 9th day we drove to Potters Pond in the mountains en did the Big Hollow trail and the Water Hollow trail.

There were several cars with spectators in the parking lot. A helicopter fetched water from the Huntington Reservoir to extinguish a forest fire that had been raging since July 23 (the Mammoth Fire). A smiling spokeswoman for the fire brigade gave us an explanation. Then we looked at the sign about the mammoth that was found here in 1988.

Thanks and cheers!

infoAn Earthcache is an educational form of a virtual cache. The reward for these caches is learning more about the planet on which we live - its landscapes, its geology or the minerals and fossils that are found there. Many Earthcaches are in National Parks. Some are multi-cache in form, and some have a physical log book located in or close to a Visitor Center. Earthcaches are developed in association with the Geological Society of America.
