No? Then you definitely should!
Tribute to Stanisław Lem, 1921-2021
One of the greatest contemporary writers: translated into 50 languages and 40 million copies sold. The Best well know Polish writer and futurologist, he was also an essayist and satirist. Certainly, thanks to such positions as "Solaris", he deserved the highest laurels.
- Philip K. Dick, an American author of science fiction books, heavily addicted to alcohol and drugs, believed that Lem did not exist, but as a character invented by Soviet intelligence, he was collective (multi-person).
- In one of the interviews, Lem stated that it was only the Internet that showed him the scale of mass idiocy.
- In the history of Polish literature, Stanisław Lem is the most frequently translated Polish author.
- He predicted the creation of e-books decades before the creation of the first devices of this type.
On behalf of 100 anniversary of the birth of the famous Polish Science Fiction writer and futurologist, Stanisław Lem, Analog Astronaut Training Center would like to express gratitude for his endless inspiration. In this unique year, we organised two analogue missions memorising books "Solaris" and "Eden". Additionally, together with prof. Cameron Smith, we created pressurised EVA suits named proudly "LEM suits".
