, everyone's favorite Lake Tahoe nail clipper. I'm here with an important message on nail hygiene.
Just kidding, grosss. What's the point of that if you don't have toes? That’s right, it’s time for a cold injury PSA! Cause nothing stops a good time like freezing your fingers off.
What is a cold injury? It’s damage to your body from cold exposure. Cold injuries can affect not only your digits, but your extremities (arms/legs) and your core temperature as well. The severity can depend on if it is a non-freezing or freezing injury. Some examples of non-freezing injuries include frostnip, immersion foot (trench foot), and chilblains. A freezing injury is frost-bite.
How to prevent such injuries? Layers, layers, layers — connect with your inner onion. Dress appropriate for the weather and climate. Some fabrics are better than others when it comes to the cold. One of the best ways to be prepared for anything is with the 10 essentials. Even if you don’t end up with an injury, hypothermia alone is dangerous enough. The most experienced can still find themselves in tricky situations.
