This coin struck a chord with my daughter that was raised watching Steve Irwin on tv. Her one wish was to be able to meet him in person. Sadly this will no longer be possible but I am glad that he had such a positive influence on her views of animal life and nature. When she found out the news she was devasted. She drew a memorial to Steve and placed it on her school desk for the rest of the year. To this day it still rests on the wall of her room. I will do my best to get her to a trip down to Australia. She may not be able to meet Steve but at least she will be able to visit a large part of his life. This coin will be moving on shortly.
