In 2012 the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County began the celebration of their 100th anniversary (in 2015) with the Geocaching Passport Challenge.
Eight caches located in preserves which were purchased between 1965 and 1990 were selected for the Passport Challenge. This coin was awarded for collecting stickers from five of the caches. This first coin of the series was not trackable. So I made it trackable by "attaching" it to a newly activated travel bug dog tag.
The five caches I found in 2012 were:
Nov 13 - No Cache is an Island
Nov 23 - Up Salt Creek without a Cache
Nov 23 - Est. 1929 FPDDC 100 years
Nov 23 - YWFP Redux
Nov 23 - Non-Native Series - Tangled

Everyone in the house had cabin fever after the record low temps and wind chill, along with the heavy snowfall we just had. Two many days off from school. I brought all the g-kids out here to add their names to the log sheet. Of course I made them solve the puzzle first.
The dragonfly looked a little weather worn, but to be expected. As planned, I grabbed the dragonfly and took it home. I am archiving it, as it has been a lonely cache lately.
After our visit here we drove over to Wolf Road Prairie to get some walking in. We had the whole place to ourselves. A good workout on Super Bowl Sunday morning, so bring on the snacks at gametime.

Visiting Chinatown with sunnysidesouth, after a morning at the Field Museum. Quick find on the way back to the car. Took longer to get out of the parking lot.

Hoping to finish the Elton John East caches today, it's nice to be back to Seager Park, though I won't have time to walk the nice trail I did one fall. I did not find this cache right away. After several minutes of waiting for my GPS to pinpoint the right host, I found an attachment hanger in the tree. Looked down and saw the cache on the ground, just as the last visitor. I secured the container to the hanger as best as I could, and hung it back up. Thanks to pfeifdom for reenabling this cache!

I went in and looked all around. There were plenty of trees and bushes to search, wasn't seeing it. I went back out and walked a few feet along the hedgerow, glanced over it, and saw the cache from a distance...immediately! Of course when I went back in it took a minute to spot it again. TFTC!

Checked up on the cache today. I haven't been out here in a long time. I fought the thorns, and I won. The cache is where it should be. The log sheet was a bit damp, but not bad. I wiped the inside of the containers dry.
I had BunnyB and cavy16 with me, and we had a nice walk in the grasslands.

Doing maintenance on a nearby cache, I stopped here on the way home to see if I could "see a dragon fly". The cache was still there in good shape, but the cache host has seen better days. Anticipating as much, I had a spare in my pocket. Now everything is good as new.

Not sure what took me so long to get out here, but today BunnyB wanted to go somewhere for a walk and some bird watching. This was the first place that came to my mind.
I knew the cache needed maintenance, at least a new log sheet. The last visit here was exactly six months ago. We placed a new cache, a camoed Airborne container, which has proven to be very good at keeping out water. We placed it in an upright position. A couple of leaves and a small piece of concrete was enough to cover it. Same spot, same hint.
Spring will be here before you know it, and Earth Day one month later. It's a good time to visit WRP.

I was calling out "Here Lizzie... Lizzie... Lizzie". I didn't see it until it was right in front of my face!😁
Very cool, TFTC!

Coming from the other cache in the park, where I discovered that I left my pen in the car. Fortunately, in my wallet I had not one, but two small cards with my caching name stamped on them.😁 I put the second one in here, and then headed back to the car. Of course I once again forgot to write down the secret song, oh well. TFTC!
