Current Goal

The race is on between me and a Minnesota Viking travel bug. I hope to make it to all 32 NFL stadiums before that other bug does. If you are not going to a stadium, please pass me on and get me as close as you can. Oh, by the way, please leave me in the states as I do not have a passport.

About This Item

BRONCOS RULE!!

When we arrive at the stadium, take our picture, punch a hole next to the stadium and then take me to another stadium or to another cache. Don't forget to post you picture on the travel bug site. Remember, I'm in a contest so don't hold on to me for too long. If I win, the winner of the other travel bug will have to dress in Bronco colors, attend a football game with my owner and cheer for Denver.

Found the Broncos TB. Unfortunately the attached cards only had a few stadiums marked so we were going to bring it to see the Dolphins. Later we were able to read the logs and determine it only needs three more stadims but was already photographed in Miami.

Should be able to take it to Chicago. The Bears play the Vikings on 1/1/12 so maybe a Bears fan can bring it to the game.

It would have been nice to see a reference to the Vikings TB so we could see how its doing. Maybe it already won?!

With permission from his owner, the Denvet Bronco TB and I have been traveling the airways together for about a year and a half. We've logged a lot of miles and quite a few caches. Together we've visited 25 NFL stadiums, including an unforgettable trip to the holy land, Mile High Stadium in Denver, as well as the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton OH. The DBTB even made a new best friend along the way named Safari Sam.

At this point, the DBTB only needs to see Minneapolis, Houston, and New Orleans to finish his life's ambition of visiting all the NFL stadiums. I'd been trying to coordinate personal trips to these cities because unfortunately I don't have business in any of them. Alas, I finally had to make the tough decision to send him on his way to brave the trip alone.

When I told him of my decision, the DBTB burst into tears and begged me to reconsider. He suggested that perhaps if we waited another season or two those franchises would dissolve or be sold anyway and it wouldn't be necessary. "After all", he exclaimed, "that amateurish Vikings team is basically defunct now and soon to be dismantled and shipped to the CFL." (Take that, MVTB!)

But, no, in the interest of geocachers around the world, I can't be selfish and must give of myself for the greater good. So, with a heavy heart and tears streaming down my cheeks, I left DBTB in a first class cache in downtown St. Louis (the TB Chateau) so that he may find someone worthy enough to help him on his quest.

Farewell, my sandy friend, and goodspeed to you always! Be sure to write!

Your friend forever,

Skipping out of Pittsburgh before the first freeze, the Denver Bronco TB hitched a ride with a couple of snowbirds and slid down to Jacksonville to visit the home of the Jaguars, EverBank Field. As he roamed the lot looking for trouble, he was suddenly confronted with the Jaguars namesake in the parking lot. Stubborn and fearless, he stared into the cold eyes of the cat, snarling and determined to intimidate the beast. Just when he had about reached his breaking point and could feel his dominance ebbing, he realized it was just a statue and sheepishly scurried off the property as fast as his little feet could carry him...which isn't very fast since he doesn't have any!

Wanting to get there before the winter weather set in, the Denver Bronco Travel Bug skipped over to Steel City to visit Heinz Field, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a drizzly day but the DBTB still took a quick peek at the stadium. He also politely harrassed any locals who happened in his path by repeatedly reciting the Denver starting lineup until they ran screaming for mercy. When he tired of that, he crossed the street for a look at the statue commenorating one of his childhood television heroes, Mr. Rogers, and then left to go for a ride on the nearby incline railway.

After his trip through the Midwest, the Denver Bronco TB decided to hit the west coast and visit that modern marvel in Seattle, Qwest Field, the home of the Seattle Seahawks. The DBTB wandered around the stadium for a while admiring the artful and functional retractable roof and while he was there he met a long-lost equine cousin who's now working with the Seattle police force (picture attached). When his relative cantered off, the DBTB quickly scrawled "Seahawks Drool!" on the locker room door in an attempt to demoralize the opposing team. After that he wandered into downtown in search of a punk rock bar that serves Starbucks coffee.
