Current Goal

This travelbug would like to visit some important places in the history of the Amiga computer:

- Braunschweig, Germany, the european home of the Amiga
- West Chester, Pennsylvania, the place the Amiga was brought to fame and killed
by permanent C= management mistakes
- Santa Clara California, the birthplace of the Amiga Computer
- any other important place in the Amiga history

About This Item

TB: Agnus

The 8375 (aka Agnus) was one of the custom chips that made it possible for the Amiga computer to be the first real multimedia computer system long before this term was even invented...
Beside Agnus, Denise and Paula helped the Amiga to display images in 4096 colours and to play stereo sound.
Thanks to its real multitaksing operating system this and much more could be done at the same time.
This TB should remind you that a couple of highly motivated people can produce something very special with quite limited resources, but a stupid management can ruin everything in no time....
There are several quite good web pages telling the history of the Amiga computer.
A good one for example is here: Amiga history
An other option is the Deathbed vigil video filmed by Dave Hayne on his last working day at Commodore.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 10/25/2005 GlenMart grabbed it   Visit Log

We picked this TB up at a new cache along the Oregon Coast called Black Beauty. To keep mileage correct, we have grabbed it, dropped it into the cache we picked it up from, and are picking it up from there.
