Current Goal

To see how many new places I can visit, and then return home to my owners (busternfruss in Newnan, GA 30263) by July 4, 2009. UPDATE: Let's make that July 4, 2010--uh, 2011! Please post photos of my travels to my gallery page. Don't forget to log your retrieval and my next cache placement so everyone can track my adventures. Thanks!

About This Item

Looking good after 23,445 miles...

One of the Tybee Island Lighthouse Georgia 2007 geocoins, silver finish. Special coin to us, hope to see it back at home soon.
Thanks for getting this coin moving again!

UPDATE 2012:  This coin has returned home safely after extended travels in the geoworld!  It may travel a bit further to a few special caches with its owners before it permanently retires.

Here's the log for our retrieval near home:

Thanks, bigkid4ever, for seeing our Tybee Island Lighthouse coin home, and thanks to all who helped it travel! Amazingly, it arrived home in excellent condition after a journey of 23,445 miles over 3 1/2 years to complete its goal. It visited several lighthouses, both coasts of the U.S., Hawaii, and the Caribbean, among other places. It's one of the lucky ones that didn't vanish in the geoworld.
We'll have to think of a good retirement for this special coin. Perhaps it can also visit Tybee Island. Many thanks and happy caching~ B&F

Visited 10/14/2019 busternfruss took it to Newnan, The City of Homes: "City of Homes" Georgia - 1,168.14 miles  Visit Log

Letting this lighthouse coin visit "City of Homes" when I did maintenance today, so it can get back to its base in Newnan, GA.

This is the coin that miraculously made it back home safely after many travels out in the geoworld. Almost all my others have come up missing, a common thing now.

Visited 9/24/2019 busternfruss took it to The Bar That Named a Town Maine - 47.19 miles  Visit Log

No lighthouse here, although we saw a few more on other nearby islands before we came home, but this is such a unique Earthcache I just had to let this lighthouse coin "visit." The bar here is submerged up to 12 feet except at low tide, when you can walk across it to Bar Island. (We made sure we were there a little BEFORE low tide, LOL.) Bar Harbor is a great little town to visit.

Visited 9/22/2019 busternfruss took it to Igneous Breakwater Maine - 1,375 miles  Visit Log

Letting my Lighthouse coin visit this Earthcache near a lighthouse at the end of the breakwater here at Rockland harbor. Our first lighthouse on this visit to Maine was near Portland (Cape Elizabeth). On this trip to Maine we glimpsed several more lighthouses and got close to four including this one near this cache. We went past two on our boat tour around Acadia National Park our last full day in Bar Harbor. Maine is a beautiful state!

Visited 7/3/2014 busternfruss took it to Pensacola Virtual Cache #1 Florida - 5,179.45 miles  Visit Log

Although I keep thinking this little lighthouse is retired from its travels, I had to log it through the cache at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, because the Pensacola Lighthouse is nearby. I didn't have my camera, and my phone is too slow to have taken a photo, but the lighthouse is beautiful and I'm glad I got to glimpse it. Great visit with Dan and family and another lighthouse for this coin! 34,500 miles...

Logging this special coin through a very special find, one at a Veterans Memorial Park on Hilton Head Island. This is B&F's 600th find, found with good friend Connie in honor of my favorite veteran and my love, Mel. Dec. 22, 1940--Sept. 10, 2012, love you forever. 😚

Visited 9/26/2012 busternfruss took it to The Hippest Cache Georgia - 21.64 miles  Visit Log

We are not going to make it to Tybee this trip, but Connie and I did go to Savannah. This is as close to the lighthouse as we'll get for now, so logging this coin through the first cache we found in Savannah today.
