We brought the TB for a visit to Port Rowan for Bayfest on Labour Day weekend. Pics of the parade to come.
You may not think of Port Rowan as a Canadian landmark, but Long Point, a sandy peninsula found at Port Rowan on the north shore of Lake Erie (one of the Great Lakes) is recognized world-wide as a wetland area of extraordinary ecological and social importance. In 1986, the area was designated a World Biosphere Reserve.
There is a national wildlife area and a provincial park on the peninsula. Located on a major waterfowl migration route called the Atlantic flyway, Long Point is one of the most significant stops on the continent for birds each spring and autumn.
