Current Goal

This TB hails from the early 90's, back when cell technology was "iffy," at best. It wants to continuously travel all ends of the world (ok, caches of the world) where cell phones do not work to remind it of the good ol' days. Once at a cell-less cache, it would like to have its' picture taken, since camera's work where cell phones do not.

Three Fossils in a Row

Antiquated cellular phone (circa-1993), Motorola "Digital Cellular Personal Communicator," retired when the technology inside was no longer viable, what with more current network implementations and all. It's not digital in the "digital cellular" sense, but Motorola sure sold a lot of 'em since it was "digital." Back before Samsung, LG, & Kyocera cell phones even existed...

  • And I can't see you either. Out here on the edge of Lake Fork, between the prairie lands and pineywoods, you'll find yourself with almost no reception on anything. I'm actually in the picture dropping the bug in the cache. Sorry I had it so long, ran in to problems finding a cache to drop it in that was big enough.

We moved down closer to the lake (Tahoe) and we were able to get reception and a killer view. Guess we'll leave this bug for someone to take it take it to a place with crappy reception.

Grabbed this guy in a spot where last year year when I was here I couldn't get a signal (cingular) but a big strong one today. Guess it's time to move him on to a more secluded place if possible.
