In very old Spanish “Galapagos” means “saddle” and the islands were called Galapagos because of the tortoises “saddle” shape carapace. The saddleback tortoises inhabit the drier islands and feed on the prickly pear cactus. Their long legs and the saddle shape of their shell allows them to stretch for food up to five feet off the ground.

Zum Jahresanfang es mal wieder an der Zeit, den Bilderordner auf dem Handy aufzuräumen und endlich alle TBs und Coins nachzuloggen, die mir auf meinen Cachetouren oder bei Recherchen im Netz begegnet sind. Etliche Fotos haben sich in den letzten Monaten angesammelt. At the beginning of the year, it's time to clean up the picture folder on my cell phone and finally log all the TBs and coins that I came across on my cache tours or while researching online. A number of photos have accumulated over the last few months. Whether seen in log entries, discovered at events or in collections, found stuck in cache containers or photographed on cache mobiles. Unfortunately this TB went missing when the cache disappeared sometime in the past couple of days. I hope it will turn up somewhere else soon!
