Retrieve It from a Cache 8/14/2005 vds retrieved it from I am the God of Leaky Caches and Soggy Log Books District of Columbia   Visit Log

In from the Seattle area (52 in the AM yesterday) it was quite the struggle in the heat today at the end of lots of walking, really enjoyed the fountain especially the snake, was most distressed to find the Library closed on Sundays. I've always wanted to visit the reading room, never got to the Library before, maybe next trip. Thanks.

In from Seattle, boy that Olmstead guy got around, there's a massive park in Seattle that he designed too. Great peaceful (and cool in the heat+humidity today) little place that I never noticed before, thanks for the reason to find it !

Boy it was hot today. After 15 years in the Seattle area I'm not acclimated to the heat+humidity any more, needed to stop into the Air+Space for some A/C for a while after the walk from the Archives. Thanks !

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/14/2005 vds retrieved it from The Lone Sailor District of Columbia   Visit Log

After a looooong walk through the Spy Museum and lunch at the Hard Rock, we scored this one on the way to the National Archives. I was surprised that I hadn't been to this one before, loved the flowers in the duffle bag. Great metalwork along the walls. Thanks !!!!

In from Seattle/Tacoma area in WA for a visit, circled a little before going for the obvious location. My eldest (who is deathly afraid of butterflies, dragonflies etc.) was freaked out by the cicada in the grass next to her, she said it was so big it needed a leash. Growing up outside Phila, that one gave me quite the chuckle. Logged only then hustled back to the A/C in the car before catching Metro to DC to play tourist. Thanks!

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/9/2005 vds retrieved it from FW Sculpture Scramble Exhibit 3: Kinetic Sculpture Washington   Visit Log

Sad - such a nicely done skatepark covered in trash, food, urine, and empty cheap booze bottles. No wonder neighbors try to say 'not in my backyard'. Great sculpture wasted in my opinion.

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/6/2005 vds retrieved it from FW Sculpture Scramble Exhibit 1: Art with a View Washington   Visit Log

Knew where the first sculpture was since I've waited there many times for the Mrs. and kids to stop gabbing with friends after performances inside the building. Was a little surprised to not recognize the (way cool) salmon sculpture, I thought I knew the grounds inside and out. Cache was a nicely hidden quick find. Thanks.

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/6/2005 vds retrieved it from FW Sculpture Scramble Exhibit 2: Drifters Washington   Visit Log

Living up the street and visiting Fred Meyer about five times per day it seems, even knew the answer without driving back, but went back to sign the log anyway while returning a DVD. Thanks.

Quickie then skedaddled north to try to get above the craziness near the Tacoma Dome (the traffic merge from hell). Thanks.
