Current Goal

DIM does not want to be dim, push the button on the back of Snoopy's head and watch Woodstock light up. The original DIM was a large blue bug who was replaced once and stolen again, so now there is a new one with a copy of it's original tag. His goal is to have his picture taken with any of the Charlie Brown Gang!

WGS84 and I trekked through the woods to find this one. A cool day post Thanksgiving without a cloud in the sky. Found the Snoopy Travel bug. How lucky - I'm a pilot from Santa Rosa, CA and that's where Charles Shultz wrote his comic strip for many years - something of a hometown hero. I think I'll try to get some pictures of the bug n front of a few monuments in town.

Meanwhile, the GPS was a little jumpy due to the trees, but with the team effort, we found all the appropriate spots. I crashed through a few more bushes and therefore had the majority of the ticks-4. But I caught them all before they attached so no biggie. Thanks again for a nice walk in the woods.

    • Snoopy checks out DIM Here is the Snoopy memorial in Santa Rosa, CA. It is the home of Charles Schultz, the site of the Peanuts museum, and where he had his studio to make his cartoons over the years.
    • Geocache 308657.jpg The memorial has a baseball diamond inlaid in the concrete around the statue
    • Schultz Airport Located North of Santa Rosa, California is the Charles M. Schultz airport. As I'm a pilot and DIM came to the West coast on an airplane I was flying, this seems appropriate.
    • Ice Arena Sparky loved to skate. He would often be found here in his upstairs office. He was a member of the Senior Hockey league and it is only through his personal perseverance that in an age where liability suits have closed most ice arenas in the US, he steadfastly refusted to close the doors on this local treasure where kids can come and have some good clean fun. It is located in a small center with the snoopy gift shop and across the street from the museum
    • Museum Across the street from the ice arena is the museum.
    • Snoopy Maze In the garden in front of the museum lies the Snoopy maze. Made of gravel paths and native grasses, it is a fitting dedication to the dog who liked to wander.
    • Gift Shop No ice arena would be complete without the gift shop. This is the building across the street from the gift shop. There is a small eatery in the ice arena called "The Warm Puppy". Fun stuff.
