About This Item

A Spoonful of Sugar

This travel bug is a Pampered Chef measuring spoon. Please move it from state to state and country to country. When you move the travel bug, please post a recipe to the travel bug page. The recipe should be a favorite of yours and if possible unique to your location/region in the world. If you desire, you can print the recipe, have it laminated, punch a hole, and attach it to the tb chain. We'd like to see how many recipes we can accumulate before the travel bug is returned to us. Thanks for your help.

Got this spoon while attending the NWOGEO Breakfast Event. My personal signature item that I leave at most caches is a refrigerator magnet with a recipe for Cincinnati Chili. In fact, I just started a Travel Bug of my own to spread the the joys of this regional favorite. (See Travel Bug TB7AF1). I'll be attaching a Recipe Card to this Travel Bug before I pass it along, hopefully in a week or so.
Here's the recipe from my magnet -
Cincinnati Style Chili
BROWN 1-1/2 LB GROUND BEEF WITH CHOPPED ONIONS. DRAIN GREASE. PLACE IN LARGE PAN. ADD 29 OZ. TOMATO SAUCE, 14-1/2 OZ PEELED TOMATOES, 1/2 t. CINNAMON, 1/2 t. ALLSPICE, 1 t. SALT, 1/2 t PEPPER, 1-1/2 T. CHILI POWDER, 1 T. WHITE VINEGAR, l TOE GARLIC, & 3 BAY LEAVES. COOK 4-5 HOURS, COVERED.

REMOVE GARLIC AND BAY LEAVES. SERVE OVER SPAGHETTI WITH CHEDDAR CHEESE
