About This Item

Duck Caller II

Thank you Willy J for rescuing Duck Caller TB, was sitting around for about 10 months in Egg-Rools in Bronco Canyon (GCNM0M). The caller is gone but Willy J attached the tag to a few shotgun shells he found on the ground near the cache.
It was the 12th of July 2005; I was on my last full day of leave in Indianapolis. I was three caches short of my 50th find milestone. I had a lot of obligations to see the in-laws one last time before we headed back home to Fort Polk, LA. Don’t get me wrong now; the in-laws are better people then my blood relatives, they are my family. It would not be right to just skip town and not say good-bye. We had a late night the day before so I had a late start. The only thing going for me was the caches I had loaded in my GPSr. The mission was to find three caches in less then two hours before we made our rounds. That gave me 45 minutes to take a shower and change before we had to head out. BAAM! I hit FIVE! caches in the allotted time. My last cache was one placed by WILL+BILL, number 52. Sadly this cache is now gone, but this is bitter sweet. They had to disable it due to construction on a new park. Better to rescue an ammo box cache and place it some where else then let it get bulldozed. I found a Duck Call on the ground 5 meters from the cache when I was looking for it. I thought “!*%#!* the cache has been muggled” I had only 8 minutes before I had to head back to change. I was feeling kind of down, and then I found the cache in place, dry and in tact. NUMBER 52! A great last day in town with no DNF’s, an ammo box cache in an urban area. Great job WILL+BILL. I hit five of WILL+BILL caches while in town and had a good time with them all. Number 49 and 50 were placed by them, something I did not notice until later. So the Duck Caller TB has the above mission.
