Current Goal

We originally bought this truck from Cathy Rucker, the widow of Steven Rucker who was the only firefighter to die in the Southern California Firestorms of 2003. This was Steve's truck and the original license plate read - "RUC TRUCK".

About This Item

Geojammer's Ride - "The Ruc Truck"!

Our Chevy Silverado truck is now a Travel Bug! Goodness knows it's been our main source of transportation to most of the geocaches we have found. We bought the Travel Bug decal at the GeoWoodstock VI Mega event. We had a great time at GW6 and camping with Geobrigade, sdarken, Kenneray and their families (Geo*Scout, ldarkens and geosmasher included) that whole weekend. We look forward to seeing the logs of all the Geocachers who discover us on the road! Please tell us where you were when you discovered us.

Found under the freeway in Corte Madera. I had to pull up real close while stopped at the light to jot down the numbers. You never knew I was there....

It was so nice getting a chance to meet you this evening. It was nice to be able to put a face with the name.

On another note, I was touched to see that this Travel Bug is on Steve Rucker's truck. I knew him, I was his daughter's preschool teacher, and I was in Southern California on vacation when I heard of his passing. He was a nice man, great father and a true hero. Thank you for keeping his memory alive!

Went with the family out for a hike on Mt. Tam, with Firestone as our main target. Half way up the five-year-old announced she had a tummy ache, and shortly thereafter deposited her breakfast all over the backseat. Pulled off, cleaned up, and turned around for home (Concord). While on 101, approaching the turnoff for the Richmond/San Rafael bridge, I spotted a familiar window sticker. Sped up to catch up, and had my wife write down the tracking number. Recognized the cacher's name on the plate from a Looney puzzle I've been working on. At least catching this TB made the trip somewhat worth it....Firestone will have to wait!
