We originally bought this truck from Cathy Rucker, the widow of Steven Rucker who was the only firefighter to die in the Southern California Firestorms of 2003. This was Steve's truck and the original license plate read - "RUC TRUCK".

About This Item

Geojammer's Ride - "The Ruc Truck"!

Our Chevy Silverado truck is now a Travel Bug! Goodness knows it's been our main source of transportation to most of the geocaches we have found. We bought the Travel Bug decal at the GeoWoodstock VI Mega event. We had a great time at GW6 and camping with Geobrigade, sdarken, Kenneray and their families (Geo*Scout, ldarkens and geosmasher included) that whole weekend. We look forward to seeing the logs of all the Geocachers who discover us on the road! Please tell us where you were when you discovered us.

Discovered this Bug at a Christmas event in Novato where I finally got to put a face on a name of a cacher that I have been wanting to meet. Great to meet you Mark, maybe we can go caching together some day.

Found this out one night with the owner.
We were out on a hunch solving a J5 puzzle, when this TravelBug came down with a flat tire!
1 hour later (and me changing the tire so the owner could talk to J5 and get the coords worked out) we were on the road again!

After attending the "Wherigo tutorial non-event event" in Novato with a group of wonderful geocachers with about 34,000 finds amongst them, I did a double-take when I saw the TB decal on geojammers' car. I spotted the decal at the intersection of Redwood Avenue and Grant Avenue in Novato at 5:55 p.m. as I was following geojammers to another cache.

Steve Rucker's tragic story will always be remembered by me, and I'm glad your sharing his story with geocachers as a trackable.
