Took the Locationless Benchmark up to the top of Mt. Agamenticus in Ogunquit, Maine to look for benchmarks. Was able to log 5. This is my favorite TB ever.

  • Gray Kitty & LLB & DMA 1908 Gray Kitty and Locationless Benchmark TB looking at Defense Mapping Agency 1908 benchmark, not listed in Groundspeak, on top of Mt. Agamenticus, very close to OC2306
  • view 2 Gray Kitty & LLTB & DMA1908 Gray Kitty and Locationless Benchmark TB looking at Defense Mapping Agency 1908 benchmark, not listed in Groundspeak, on top of Mt. Agamenticus, very close to OC2306
  • Gray kitty in front of 0C2306 All that is left of this is the rod in the rock
  • Gray Kitty & LLB & OC2313 &OC2304 OC2304 is the firetower. Behind the tower is a microwave tower which is OC2313
  • OC2305 (sorry about the finger) Below the viewing platform are the orginal cement pilings that supported the original firetower. The benchmark was (is?) in a rock between the cement blocks. Cannot be accessed at this time due to the platform and lattice work surrounding it, but you can peek.

Nice bug. Very well travelled. Will try and take it to Maine for a photo with our "family" benchmark. Then get it back to Canada again for a bit?

Took it to Maine for the first photo, then flew back for the second... A well travelled bug in this single ownership (and it got to fly in a private plane).

  • Perry, Me Overlooking the Passamaquoddy Bay in Perry, Maine, this benchmark is blessed with a wonderful view of St. Andrews, New Brunswick and the surrounding islands. This benchmark was placed in 1946 on a point of land on our family's property, just north of the 45th parallel.
  • Buttermilk Hill, Mt. Pleasant, NY This benchmark marks the oldest surviving triangulation point in North America (see the iron stake mark to the right, and follow the link below). I intend to place a cache near here some day soon...
