This coin will travel with me as I go on "My Geek Odyssey" during the summer of 2009. After the "official" adventure it will continue to travel from event to event.
In 2009 I was awarded a Teacher Creativity Fellowship from the Lilly Endowment to travel to England and learn about the Mini Cooper. As a part of this I also created a webcomic (www.mygeekodyssey.com) and examined other geeky things that I like. This coin holds the pathtag that I made for the fellowship and the webcomic. The comic can be found at (visit link) photos of the journey can be seen at (visit link)

After being home almost a week finally had a chance to find what will probably be my last cache of the summer. School starts on Tuesday with meetings Monday and the carnival sideshow of Meet Me on a Monday in the evening. I just imagine that there is a carnival barker outside the school, "See the amazing mysteries of the cafeteria! Behold the wonders that await you in fourth grade! See the dog faced boy, the bearded lady and the world's tallest principal!"

Who knew there were penguins on Maui? Nice little walk through the hotel lobby and shopping gallery. We were lucky that we caught this one just before shift change. When we drove by the GZ on the way out it was filled with people.

What a neat location... we did both the earthcache and the virtual and were amazed (once again) at the beauty of the area. While gathering the information for the virtual the sign had a series of photos showing the clouds coming in the clouds did come in! changing the view from crystal clear to socked in in just a few minutes.

What a cool place... as we were driving along it looked as if someone had plowed the land on both sides of the road. as we pulled into the parking I realized that it wasn't turned up soil it was lava rock! ran into a few goats at GZ, but this was the high point of a day of caching.
