Current Goal

I am a gypsum crystal found along I-90 just east of the rest areas east of Buffalo, Wyoming the summer of 1988. Remember the summer if 88? Everything was on fire out west. Remember the drought? My owner was at the South Dakota school of Mines Field Camp that summer in Sand Creek Canyon in the northern Black Hills. If you're ever passing through on I-90, take the Beulah, Wyoming exit and drive south. You won't be disappointed. Breathed in a lot of smoke that summer! Later that summer watched Yellowstone burn down! Could you guess my owner is a geologist? My purpose in life is to travel to and all over my home state and have my picture taken with anything "geologic". Be creative, there is so much out there that has to do with geology, but in Wyoming you can't look anywhere without seeing something geologic!

Spotted this one in AZ today. The Rio de Flag runs through Flagstaff and has cut itself a path, which at this spot is about 20 feet lower than the surrounding terrain. I'm not sure what to call it, is it deep enough to be called a canyon? Are the sides too steep for it to be a valley? Is it too wide to be a wash? Anyway, it's a cool place to go for a hike. (and definitly Geologic)

I took it because I could, not a very exciting TB though. Will place it somewhere obscure to say the least!

We had some great times with Gypsum. We finally had time to set this bug free. He is placed near Brackett Air Field. Maybe someone can help him out with a flight to get closer to home.

Well at the end of our trip, Gypsum has gone through a lot. We couldn't have had a better travel mate. No complaining, didn't eat a lot, never needed a break, and had a lot of jokes to keep us entertained. We couldn't find a suitable cache to leave Gypsum in Alaska, so he will make his way back to CA where he will be placed in a cache near our house.
