About This Item

dmp

This travel bug belongs to the 1st grade geography class at Day-McKellar Preparatory School in Alpine California.
As part of our studies we launched this bug on a virtual field trip to go places our class can’t.
We are following its every move and are learning about the areas where the bug has visited, we would like to “see” where it is.
If you could take a picture of our bug at its destination or in the area where you cache it, or a picture of something interesting in the surrounding area and post it on the geocache log, we would surely appreciate it!

Please hide our bug in easy to get to or popular caches, we’d like to keep it moving!

If this bug has already reached Disneyworld, please help it travel around the South Eastern United States to visit as many places as possible!

Miss Molly & I just got your TB on Sat. so we haven't had must time to get to Disney World before you school is out for the summer. Today we drove around Disney property and took these photo's to let you know it has made it to Disney World. Later this week we will try and get into the 4 parks and get photos for you. One thing you must remember about this place is, it's bigger then most towns. Disney employees 62,000 cast members just here in Florida. Again larger then most towns have in population. Then you add all the Disney resorts full of tourist and this area can have over 175,000 people on this property. Pretty big isn't it?

DMP - Disney World enjoys wonderful views of Niagara Falls!

  • DMP - Disney World approaches Niagara Falls As we approached the falls from the east flying into the late afternoon sun, we saw the mist rising from the falling water long before we saw the falls themselves.
  • Over the Canadian Falls After the Niagara River flows over the falls, it travels under the Rainbow Bridge and on to Lake Ontario.
  • View from Canada This photo taken from Canadian airspace looks "up river" towards Buffalo, NY, and on to Lake Erie where the Niagara River begins.

The American Falls is actually divided into two separate water falls. The smaller fall is called Bridal Veil Falls.
  • Goat Island in the middle Goat Island separates the two mighty water falls.

Between 1901 and 1985, ten people went over the Falls in a ball, barrel or rig. Seven were successful while three died in the attempt.

Since 1985, five more persons have gone over the Falls. They include Dave Munday (1995), the duo of Peter Dibernardi and Jeff Petkovich (1989), Jessie Sharp in kayak (1990) and Robert Overacker in jet ski (1995). Sharp and Overacker died. Thus far 15 people have challenged the Falls of Niagara between 1901 a
