My journey will begin with a visit to Kitty Hawk, NC, with my owner where I will visit the Wright Brothers Memorial
Primary Mission: To visit and be photographed at as many aviation historical sites and aircraft as possible.
The "Wright" Stuff is actually a "Wright Brothers Memorial Benchmark" Geocoin.
Although currently a resident of Virginia, I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina where every license plate said "First In Flight."
Because of this, this coin spoke directly to my heart with the mission quite obvious ... wanting it to honor that first flight as well as touch on the history of aviation by visiting sites associated with that history.
** Please note this is a real geocoin, not a copy.

Wright Brothers Memorial Benchmark geocoin
The Wright Brothers Memorial has two benchmarks: Wright 1962 benchmark, PID FW1375,; and Wright Memorial Monument benchmark, PID FW1374. Both are located at the top: one is a disk, and the other is the very top of the beacon light housing. Both benchmarks are depicted on the front of this coin. It also has the coordinates for each one. The top coordinates are for the disk, and the bottom coordinates are for the beacon. It also has an image of the Wright Flyer. All three of these images are made in wonderfully detailed 3-D craftsmanship.
The back of the coin has a highly detailed 3-D image of the Art Deco door. This door is at the base of the memorial and leads you to the stairs that take you to the top of the memorial where the benchmarks are located. Also on the backside is the commemorative phrase wrapped around the door in a similar manner of how it is engraved in stone around the actual memorial.
